These are some of our favorite recipes, mostly from Cooking Light, but we tend to edit portions and ingredients
that suit our taste buds (e.g. when a recipe calls for 1 minced garlic clove, we use about 4 :) ).
Other recipes are passed down from family and friends.
Enjoy!

Bacon-Scented Broccoli

Bacon makes everything better! Crumbling a few pieces of the good stuff over this dish adds so much flavor while staying low on calories and fat.

Yield: Serves 4 (serving size: 1/2 cup)
Ingredients:
12 ounces broccoli florets
2 slices center-cut bacon
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon salt

Preparation:
Place broccoli florets in a large saucepan of boiling water. Cook 3 to 4 minutes or until broccoli is crisp-tender; drain. Heat a medium nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add bacon; cook until crisp. Remove bacon slices from pan with a slotted spoon; crumble. Add broccoli, bacon, pepper, and salt to bacon drippings in pan; cook 1 minute, tossing to coat broccoli.
