These are some of our favorite recipes, mostly from Cooking Light, but we tend to edit portions and ingredients
that suit our taste buds (e.g. when a recipe calls for 1 minced garlic clove, we use about 4 :) ).
Other recipes are passed down from family and friends.

Christmastime Coffee Cake

A Notis Family tradition:

Ingredients:
* 2  1/4  cups  flour
* 1/2  tsp  salt
* 1  1/2  tsp  cinnamon, divided
* 1  cup  brown sugar
* 3/4  cup  sugar
* 3/4  cup  oil
* 1/2  cup  walnuts, chopped
* 1  tsp  baking soda
* 1  tsp  baking powder
* 1  egg
* 1  cup  buttermilk

Preparation:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, sugars, and oil.
3. In a small bowl, combine 3/4 cup of the mixture from the large bowl with walnuts and the other 1 tsp cinnamon. Set topping aside.
4. To the large bowl, add soda, powder, egg, and buttermilk.
5. Pour the mixture from the large bowl into a buttered 9x13 baking dish. Sprinkle with topping.
6. Bake for 25 - 30 minutes, until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean. Serve warm.
