These are some of our favorite recipes, mostly from Cooking Light, but we tend to edit portions and ingredients
that suit our taste buds (e.g. when a recipe calls for 1 minced garlic clove, we use about 4 :) ).
Other recipes are passed down from family and friends.

Special K Bars

This is a recipe from my mom ~ my big sister used to always want Mom to make nanaimo bars...I always wanted Special K bars. :)


Ingredients:
* 6 cups Special K cereal
* 1 cup sugar
* 1 cup Karo syrup
* 1 cup peanut butter
* 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
* 1 cup butterscotch chips

Preparation:
1. Put cereal in a large buttered bowl.
2. In a small saucepan, combine sugar and syrup. Cook over medium heat until mixture boils; remove from heat. Add peanut butter to syrup mixture; stir until completely combined.
3. Pour syrup mixture over cereal and stir to coat evenly. Press into a buttered 9x13 pan.
4. Melt chips in a small saucepan over medium heat; spread over cereal.
