These are some of our favorite recipes, mostly from Cooking Light, but we tend to edit portions and ingredients
that suit our taste buds (e.g. when a recipe calls for 1 minced garlic clove, we use about 4 :) ).
Other recipes are passed down from family and friends.
Enjoy!

Spicy Maple Chex Mix

I edited this from a Cooking Light recipe for my bro-in-law's birthday ~ he's a maple fanatic. It was a big hit with Jim too!

Ingredients:
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme
3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper
1/4 cup maple syrup
6 tablespoons butter, melted
1 cup mixed nuts
3 cups tiny unsalted pretzels
3 cups Rice Chex
3 cups Wheat Chex

Preparation:
1. Preheat oven to 250°.
2. In a small bowl, stir brown sugar, 1 teaspoon thyme, salt, cinnamon, red pepper, and maple syrup into melted butter.
3. Combine nuts, pretzels, and Chex in a large bowl, drizzle butter mixture over; stir gently to coat. Spread Chex mixture in a single layer on jelly-roll pan. Bake at 250° for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Cool completely and store in air-tight container.
